This play butter container gets a LOT of use by my children!🧈 We are big fans of Irish Butter, so making a replica for the play kitchen only seemed natural….especially since KerryGold’s soft butter comes in such a cute container! 😄This is a very simple and easy project!

🧈Supplies Used:
- Empty Butter container (we used the container from our KerryGold Soft Butter)
- Yellow Foam Block (we used one from a set similar to these, but a wooden block can be used, or butter can also be made out of felt (use glue gun for a no-sew version).
- (optional) Stiff Yellow felt (cut into a few tiny squares for butter slices)
🧈Directions: Wash butter container, place foam block (or other butter alternative) inside the container. That is all there is to this very simple DIY! 😊🧈
🧈Optional Addition: For butter “slices,” we also have a few small squares cut out of stiff yellow felt; the kids can place those butter squares on top of various play foods (like cookies, biscuits, or buns)! This was aspect that we added several weeks after first making the butter, but the kids certainly love it…. it is especially cute to watch them using their butter knives to cut or spread the butter! 🔪🧈

🧈For a wonderful resource on kitchen accessories (like the knives mentioned above), I highly recommend this one from Battat Toys; we have used the items from this set almost daily for almost a year and are so very pleased. I did a LOT of research before choosing dishware for the play kitchen, as I needed something which was affordable, good quality, food safe and BPA free….also, the cups and kettle had to hold water without leaking; the set that we bought met all of that criteria. The kids bring pieces of their kitchen set everywhere they go; we have found that this dishware is a great way to keep the kiddos occupied on road trips and is such a great addition to our outdoor adventures.🧈🔪🍳🥄😊
